JOB DESCRIPTION: Validates the appropriateness of planned hospital admissions, reviews inpatient and observation cases for compliance with the Utilization Review Plan. Serves as a liaison to assigned nursing units to facilitate the utilization review process. Takes appropriate action to comply with third party payer requirements. Participates in patient discharge planning to ensure appropriate arrangements for special patient needs. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in nursing or related health care field. Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia. Two years of recent health care experience (within the past five years) and one year of experience in utilization management, quality improvement, or discharge planning. |
